Moroccan craftsmanship

The Moroccan craftsmanship makes up a prominent place. Precious manuscripts of the royal library or those of Qarawiyyin mosque show a remarkable art of calligraphy. Gold jewelry and silver are finely crafted. The ancient ceramics (glazed pottery or glazed earthenware) are decorations made of flowers and arabesques monochrome, usually blue or multicolored, blue tones, browns, greens and yellows. Those of Fez are particularly renowned. The richness of this Moroccan heritage should not overshadow the extraordinary variety of Moroccan crafts: pottery, woodworking, leather goods, clothing, metalwork, basketry, mat assembly and blankets. Moroccan artisans, whether in rural areas - mainly Berber - or cities - they are organized into guilds in cities - demonstrate a knowledge and a remarkable skill.

The craft is part of the Moroccan national heritage. It is the formula of a folk art mainly kept for decades, designed the materials of local origin, the service of daily life. The Moroccan Craft is probably the richest and most enduring of all the Maghreb, it uses all available and accessible materials: clay, wool, wood, leather, metal ... The assembly of these various materials and diversity shapes and colors are that we will be spoiled for choice to articles often with a high quality label.
